Download terms and privacy

This page explains the rules for downloading the OSX-REIMS package through the Gerar meu link de download (Get my download link) button (or the /download-osx-reims command) on the Universo Hackintosh Discord, and which data is recorded in the process. By generating a download link, you agree to these terms.

Terms of use#

Who can download#

The download is a benefit for members of the Hackintosh - Avançado and Hackintosh - vGPU OS tiers on the Universo Hackintosh YouTube channel, while the membership is active. The membership is confirmed by the role that Discord itself assigns to those who connected the YouTube account used for the membership to their profile. How the link works#

• The link is generated by the Gerar meu link de download button, in the pinned message of the #osx-reims channel; the /download-osx-reims command also only works in that channel. The reply is visible only to whoever clicked or sent the command.
• Each link is personal and valid for a single download.
• To download, you need to sign in with Discord on the link page. The download only happens for the same account that generated the link; any other account is refused, and the link stays valid for its owner.
• The link expires in 10 minutes if the download is not started. In that case, just click the button again.
• Generating a new link cancels the previous link that has not been used yet.
• After a download starts, a new link can only be generated 24 hours later.
• Up to 5 links can be generated every 24 hours.
• An interrupted download cannot be resumed: you need to wait for the 24-hour period and generate another link.
• The package's .sha256 checksum file is public: downloading it requires no sign-in and does not use up the link.

Personal use#

The package and the link are for the personal use of whoever generated them. Sharing the link, or redistributing, republishing or hosting the package elsewhere, is not allowed. Each download is associated with the Discord account that generated the link.

OSX-REIMS may only be used while the membership is active. If it is canceled or not renewed, OSX-REIMS must be removed from the computer, as set out in the License.

In case of sharing or redistribution, the records described below may be used to identify the source, and the account involved may have its access to the download suspended.

The software#

OSX-REIMS is an experimental project, in alpha, provided as is, without warranty and without technical support. The #osx-reims-chat channel is a space for members to help each other and does not guarantee a reply, a timeframe or a fix. The terms of use and the licenses involved are described in License.

Privacy#

Data recorded#

When a link is generated:

• the ID, username and display name of your Discord account;
• the server and channel where the button was clicked or the command was sent;
• your Discord language, used to reply in Portuguese or English;
• the date and time the link was generated and when it expires.

When the link page is opened for the first time:

• the date and time it was opened;
• the IP address and browser (user agent) used;
• the approximate country, reported by the Cloudflare network.

When signing in with Discord on the page:

• the ID and username of the account that signed in, compared with the account that generated the link. If they differ, the attempt is recorded — account, date and time, IP address, browser and approximate country — and the download is refused.

Sign-in only uses Discord's identify permission (username and ID). The access granted is used once, to confirm the account, and revoked right after.

When the download starts:

• the date and time the download started;
• the IP address and browser (user agent) used;
• the approximate country, reported by the Cloudflare network.

The link itself is not stored: only a cryptographic fingerprint of it (SHA-256 hash) is recorded, which cannot be used to rebuild the link. Your account's roles are checked at the moment of the click or command to confirm the membership and are not stored. Downloading the .sha256 file creates no record.

What the data is used for#

• Confirming that whoever requests the download is a member of the Hackintosh - Avançado or Hackintosh - vGPU OS tier.
• Confirming that whoever downloads is the same Discord account that generated the link.
• Enforcing the link rules: single use, 10-minute window, 24-hour interval and link limit.
• Keeping a history of who downloaded each version and when.
• Investigating and identifying the source of shared links or redistributed packages.

This processing relies on delivering a membership benefit and on the legitimate interest in protecting the distribution of OSX-REIMS, under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018).

What is not done with the data#

The data is not used for campaigns, advertising or any marketing activity, is not sold and is not shared with third parties.

It is stored with infrastructure services that operate on behalf of the Universo Hackintosh and only process the data to make the download work: Cloudflare (which runs the bot and stores the package) and Supabase (database). Access to the database is restricted to the download service itself and to the person responsible.

How long#

Records are kept for 24 months from the date the link was generated and then deleted automatically.

Your rights#

You can request confirmation that data about you exists, access to it, correction or deletion, among the other rights provided by the LGPD, by email at luchina.gabriel@gmail.com. Include your Discord username or account ID so the records can be located.

Cookies#

The download page uses no cookies or scripts; sign-in happens on Discord's own page. This site does not use cookies either: its only measurement is Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and collects no personal data.

Changes#

These terms may be updated, for example if the download rules change. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
